Habitat for Humanity to Break Ground on Ninth House
The public is invited to Habitat for Humanity Calaveras’ second
groundbreaking of a Habitat home in the Valley Springs area. The
groundbreaking ceremony is Sunday, June 29, 2008 at 2 p.m. at 3340
Botfuher Street in Rancho Calaveras.
Participating in the ceremony are District 5 Supervisor Russ Thomas,
and Lucy Thein, President of the Board of Directors of Habitat for
Humanity Calaveras. Brother James Marlow of the Burson Full Gospel
Church will also participate. The prospective owners of this Habitat
home, Troy and Patricia Burns and their three sons, will be present
along with other Calaveras County Habitat families. Music and

Presentation: “Google Earth mapping options”. Come to our next General
Meeting and see how to use Google Earth. Fly around your house and town
via the computer. See it from all angles and capture pictures to
entertain your friends. We will also discuss cell phones and flash
drives; learn about all the new cell phone features and get help on
which to buy. ACUG is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping
members of the community learn more about computers and software.

LMNO & The Kennedy Mine Foundation Present: MINESTOCK 2008

Kennedy Mine, Jackson. $15 per person, $5/children ages 8-12, $50 per
carload. This is a huge open mike event for ALL musicians and music
lovers, young and old, amateur and pro. Several core bands are also
lined up to perform throughout the day: As Yet Untitled, Bobby D. & the
Blues Organ_ization, Crystal Image featuring Honey & Spice, Darcel
Hunter, Lisa Morrow, Pueblo Rooftop, Substrate Wind Horse and the
Favoritz Band! Bring your chairs/blankets, shade umbrellas, sunglasses,
plenty of sunblock, etc. Food, beer and wine served; you can also bring
your own lunch/dinner.
Dance at 8PM to the sounds of The Favoritz Band! Tell your friends and
family to include Minestock in your Memorial Day weekend plans! This
fundraising event goes towards a new Archives Building to be built at
the Kennedy Mine.
