The Amador County Community Band proudly represents our county and has been selected to perform in June of this year in Washington D.C. for the National Community Concert Band Sousa Festival, a salute to the legendary march king, John Philip Sousa. This free concert will feature a special patriotic salute, a medley of traditional American folk songs, highlights from “The Unsinkable Molly Brown” and “The King and I”, and more. UCCE Amador Co Master Gardener - Backyard Beekeeping: This year’s UCCE Amador County Master Gardener Backyard Beekeeping class will be given on two consecutive Thursday evenings, March 4th and 11th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Amador Co. GSA building, 12200-B Airport Rd in Sutter Hill. The focus of this class will be on providing start-up and
intermediate beekeepers with information on hive management. The first class will begin with a brief overview of the honeybee colony structure and the importance of honeybees in the human food chain. The rest of the two sessions will be devoted to hive placement, mitigating pests and diseases and managing bees for honey production and pollination. The

Fun classes for children to begin learning Spanish will take place in the spring on the weekends, times to be announced, in the back room at Cafe de Coco bakery restaurant on Main Street in Jackson. Parents with children from pre-school through Jr. High are invited to go in and sign up to participate. Small groups will be formed based on ages of the prospective participants who sign up in advance. Parents should attend with younger children who will learn games, songs, read books and learn vocabulary in Spanish such as names of animals, fruits and vegetables, and also the alphabet, numbers and so forth. Sacramento, CA --- Mark your calendar and don't miss the California Automobile Museum's Annual Spring Swap Meet on Sunday, March 7, 2010 from 6am - 2pm.Vendors will offer unique and hard to find automobile collectibles and accessories, including antique auto parts, tools, books, magazines, models and much more!
