Ives Quartet – Refined Playing, Visceral Rock Intensity
Bay Area based Ives Quartet has captivated audiences from San
Francisco to New York, Taiwan to London. It has championed an
unusual repertoire, attracting critical enthusiasm for its
practice of “reveling in the unfamiliar” and bringing
underappreciated gems of the string-quartet classical genre to a
wide audience. They are joined by Yoshikazu Nagai, internationally
recognized classical pianist, playing pieces by Mozart. The
musicians are inspired by the passionate, artistic commitment and
unique temperament of American composer Charles Ives
(1874¬–1954¬), the Ives Quartet creates powerful live-music
experiences through the presentation of fresh and informed
interpretations.
