The Amador County Citizens For Stabilizing & Reducing Greenhouse
Gas Emissions
Climate change in our country, county and cities is real and
happening now. We have an opportunity to work together to stabilize
and reduce this trend. The Amador County Citizens For Stabilizing &
Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions is forming a volunteer group. The
group believes that the evidence for climate change is abundant and
clear. We also believe climate change is created by humans burning
oil (cars, trucks, buses) and coal (electric power generation) to
meet our energy needs. In addition, deforestation (cutting trees)
and burning these trees contribute to Greenhouse Gas Emissions. The
group’s mission is to create and implement a Solutions Plan
designed to stabilize and reduce Greenhouse Gas emissions in Amador
County by specific amounts while lowering energy costs and saving
money for our cities and county.
The group will work with cities and the county to implement: Green
Vehicle Fleets, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy all designed
to reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions in our county. If you are
interested in participating in this critically important effort
please contact:

students. Parents are encouraged to participate along with their
child(ren). Please contact Marie Schluter at (209) 223-1521, or

for further information, and to register for this program.
This is the 3rd year Marie has taught Kids Yoga through First 5
Amador. The last session she had a total of 10 families enrolled in
the program, with 17 children total. Some of the children are
seasoned two-year yoga members, and Marie says it is so rewarding
to watch them blossom and gain confidence in themselves.
The classes include yoga poses and story telling about animals or
objects in nature, which the children like to act out. Each session
something new is added to the program. The children love learning
new poses, but also continue poses they have learned and practiced
from previous classes. Children love being able to improve their
balance and show their family how well they are doing.
