SIERRA WILDLIFE RESCUE WILDLIFE
CLASSES CONTINUE IN FALL
Sierra Wildlife Rescue's fall/winter classes for potential and
current wildlife rehabbers, and anyone interested in wildlife, will
be held starting in September. Rehabbing wild animal babies and
birds with SWR is more fulfilling and enjoyable than you can
imagine. If you love the birds of El Dorado County and would like
to learn how to rehab them, a class on rehabbing Crows, Ravens,
Magpies and other corvids will be held on September 11, 1:00 - 3:00
pm, and a class on rehabbing adult Song Birds on September 14, from
7:00-9:00 pm.
A class on Zoonotic Diseases (animal to human transmission) will be
held October 12, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. This is an important class
for current and potential rehabbers to learn how to handle wild
animals safely. The Advanced Medical Procedures class will be held
November 9, from 7:00 – 9:00 pm, and the class on Anatomy and
Physiology on December 14, from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.
Classes on wildlife species in El Dorado County for the general
public and on rehabbing other wildlife species will begin in
January, 2011, throughout the spring. If you are interested in
rehabbing squirrels, raccoons, bunnies, possums, fawns, foxes,
coyotes, bobcats, or other wild animals, watch for future notices
in this publication, check out the fall/winter 2010 Paw Print
newsletter online, at
www.sierrawildliferescue.com or call Barbara Barker,
530-621-2650. The fall/winter class schedule will be available in
late November.
All classes will be held at SWR's new Wildlife Center, 3030 Newtown
Rd, Placerville. Parking space is limited, so please call Barbara
to sign up. You can also call Barbara for information on becoming a
member of SWR, volunteering for other activities, upcoming SWR
events, and making donations. Classes are free to SWR Members; we
would appreciate a donation of $5.00 from the general public.
Please plan to attend a class at our wonderful new location to see
what SWR and rehabbing are all about. Hope to see you there!
