Musical Theatre: EDMT is an award winning regional theater company
based in El Dorado Hills, California featuring performers aged
6-20. EDMT was founded in 2001 and is a Non-Profit Organization.
EDMT produces five major productions per year. Additionally, EDMT produces an annual
training show for performers ages 5-9, no experience is required.

EDMT Receives Ten Elly Awards for the
2009-10 Season
Sacramento, CA
- Nearly 1,000 people turned out Sunday evening to the Crest
Theater for the 28th annual Elly Award Ceremony sponsored by the
Sacramento Area Regional Theatre Alliance (SARTA). Local actors,
directors, costumers, and technical staff attended the event which
honors community, youth and high school theater. For the 2009-10
Season there were 83 theaters who participated, and 412 nominations
were given. A total of 85 awards were presented.
El Dorado Musical Theatre received forty three nominations, and
took home ten awards, including the award for Best Overall
Production in a Young People’s Musical, which went to EDMT’s
production of Les Miserables. The award marks the third consecutive
season in which EDMT has been recognized for best overall
production. In 2008, EDMT was recognized for Seven Brides for
Seven Brothers, and in 2009 it received the nod for Joseph
and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
In addition to the Award for Best Overall Production for a Young
People’s Musical, EDMT received the following awards:

El Dorado Musical Theater Artistic Director and Co-Founder Debbie
Wilson said, “We have been very fortunate with so many Elly
nominations and wins over the years. It is a great testament to
consistency of good work done by everyone at EDMT."
The Ellys are named after the late Eleanor McClatchy, who was the
president of McClatchy Newspapers, which publishes The Sacramento
Bee. McClatchy, a longtime supporter of theater and the performing
arts, died in 1980. EDMT is preparing for its run of A Christmas
Carol, The Musical November 19-December 5 at the Jill Solberg
Performing Arts Theater at Folsom High School. Tickets can be
